Launched!

After nearly 2 years of dreaming and prepping, we are at the airport ready to take to the friendly skies! It’s been a massive push getting out the door: getting Brian’s retirement in order, finishing up remodeling deliverables outstanding for decades, planning our destinations, and finally packing our bags! Phew!

Along the way we enjoyed numerous gatherings with dear friends and family celebrating our program – I recommend leaving town for an extended period every fews years to feel the love! Added bonus: household purging….

With our daughters’ blessings and the support of many including our perfect-fit tenants, we are embarking on a year+ journey to circle the globe at a retirement pace. Having met while working in the adventure travel industry in our much earlier years, the seeds were set then to explore the furthest regions of our globe when time permitted. We enjoyed many fabulous jaunts as a family over the years and now, with our schedules wide open, it’s time to explore far flung destinations once again!

Many have asked about our route – here it is in a nutshell, though there may be adjustments along the way:

  • Egypt (Feb)
  • Jordan (early March)
  • Morocco (mid March thru mid-April)
  • South Africa (mid-April thru mid-May)
  • Southern Africa Overland: Cape Town, Namibia, Botswana to Victoria Falls (mid-May thru early June)
  • Rwanda/Kigali (one week in June)
  • Uganda (rest of June)
  • Kenya (July)
  • Georgia (early August)
  • Sri Lanka (late Aug thru early Sept)
  • Bhutan (Sept)
  • Japan (Oct)
  • Vietnam/Cambodia/Laos (Nov)
  • Philippines or Indonesia (Dec)
  • Chile (Jan)
  • Argentina (Feb)

We look forward to several friends and family who will join us along the way! Thank you for following us digitally, and enduring our blogging gaffs as this is also new territory for us.

Our boarding time is approaching so off we go…. stay in touch and thank you everyone for your love and support!

What an amazing adventure for two world travelers! Taking the time to sink into the culture & beauty of all the places you’ll visit is the way to go. I’m imagining you will see Olaf in Georgia. Please give him a hearty hug from me. šŸ˜‰
Thank you for sharing your journey.
Hugs to you both as well,
